District Council

Image
Ethan sent us this picture and it was really good so I wanted to put it on his blog.  Because his District covers such a large geographical area, they have to meet for District Council in a central location.  They meet every Wednesday for District Council and decided to meet at Ayres Natural Bridge between Glenrock and Douglas, WY.  They were able to meet, go on a short hike, and take pictures.   Ethan is the second from the right:

Hey everyone! I'm up here in Casper, Wyoming, and loving it. This is a great place. If you all could pray for Heather and Gary, that would be  awesome . They are working towards baptism and some prayers to help give them the motivation to read the Book of Mormon, that would be great. For pday today, we played a lot of basketball and some disc golf. It was a beautiful day here, except for the mosquitos. We also saw a snake.  Sorry for the shorter email, but I want to let you all know that you're  awesome ! Thanks  for all the love and support. Love, Elder Pack PS:  Ethan really is loving being back in Wyoming.  They have regular Church, they eat with the members, and they have people to teach.  It's been great.  And he has found a thrift store, so he's a happy guy. 😉  They live in an apartment complex with a gym so they get up at 5:30 am in order to have time to go workout before they have to get ready for the day.  Ethan said he ...

It’s Ethan’s 19th birthday! There is a member of the 70s touring the mission right now so their p-day was moved to Friday. They were given permission to do a few regular p-day things but they needed to be out working. Ethan couldn’t call at his regular time so he called us for a quick chat around noon. We got to watch him open his birthday box I sent.  I sent him a cake mix, frosting, sprinkles, and those candies that spell “Happy Birthday” so he could make his own cake. There was a piñata, small bat, balloons, party hats, candy, Cosmic Brownies, and Twizzlers. So he has everything he needs for a party!  Courtney bought him a Lego birthday cake when we were in Florida so he got that too. I think that was probably his favorite. He sent us pictures: I’m sure he will write on Friday when they have their actual p-day. He said he loves Casper because it is so beautiful. The members are taking good care of them. They have dinner appointments every night and a lot of times the member...

Hey everyone! This week has been good. I found out on Sunday that I'll be heading up to Casper Wyoming. Wish me luck! I'm excited. I think it's going to be a great transfer. Some other cool things that happened: we put together a family home evening for the YSA ward that went pretty well, we moved all of our furniture so our carpets could get cleaned, it rained a lot which I like, we had a good Filipino-Japanese dinner with some members, and we had some good lessons with people we're teaching. I'll attach some pictures that I took. Thanks  for all the support and prayers! I appreciate you all! Keep being  awesome ! From, Elder Pack Me and my houseplant Tobin One of my companions with a birthday cake made of cotton candy (we all have May birthdays). The activity after Family Home Evening Our stuff piled in the kitchen and bathroom so they could shampoo the carpets My companions on the futon we put outside PS:  Ethan will be going to Casper, WY, and serving in the Cas...

Ethan sent us pictures late last night so I wanted to post them and put down what he wrote to us. "This was probably the best pday ever.  Here are a bunch of pictures from Martins Cove. It was really cool!  I'll probably need to send a couple emails with them haha! We got up at 4:30 to get there and we'll be driving home until 9:30 or so. I saw pretty much everyone I know on the mission and did service and a hike. We can talk more about it when I call next Sunday for Mother's Day. I love you!" Look at the line of mission cars behind them! This is the entire mission.

I don't know if Ethan will write a letter today or not.  His entire mission is going to Martin's Cove for p-day today.  He and his companions had to leave their apartment at 6 am this morning to drive the 4 hours and 11-minutes to get there on time.  They are spending the day, as a mission, doing service at Martin's Cove and then exploring the site.  It is going to be such a cool experience for them.  There are over 200 missionaries in his mission, so it's going to be a party. Because of this, Ethan called Monday morning to chat with us and then sent a quick email with some pictures.  He is doing really well and really enjoys his companions.  They all have May birthdays so that has been a good connection.  They probably will only be together, all three of them, for the next week because transfers are on May 11th, but they have enjoyed the time they have been together. The YSA ward covers two zones so they are really busy.  Things are pr...
