Hey everyone!  This week has been great. David was baptized last Saturday and he is doing great! We took a couple pictures but they're pretty bad haha. In other news, I'm going to be staying here for another transfer and I'll be training again. So I think this transfer is going to be pretty good. I'll find out who my companion is tonight.  Other than that, not much else is going on. Things are going good. Thanks for all your support! Love, Elder Pack PS:  Ethan hasn't written in a while (silly kid!) so I will try and update you on what has been going on in his life. Ethan and Elder Wright have been teaching David for a while and David had other dates for baptism that didn't work out.  David is a friend of someone in the Casper 2nd ward.  Ethan was super excited when David finally decided he wanted to be baptized.  He had been attending Church, even attending once while he was on vacation in Denver, but had a few concerns he needed to figure out before takin...

Hey everyone! I'm going to keep this one pretty short but I've been doing good. If everyone could pray for David to get baptized, that would be awesome.  Casper is great! Lots of cool people here. Love you all! From, Elder Pack PS.  Ethan said he hasn't written for a couple of weeks (although I think it's been more like a month) so we gave him a hard time.  I think he believes that, since he talks to us, he doesn't have much to say.  So, I will add what we talked about so you know how he is doing. They had Zone Conference last Friday.  They always have car inspection and a prize is given out to the missionaries with the cleanest car.  Ethan really thought they would win the prize but...it went to some sisters who had their car detailed by some people in their ward. 😉  He was bummed.  He said the prize was donuts "or something" but they didn't get it. They are teaching David (who he mentioned above) and he was on vacation in Denver last Sunday but...

Hey Everyone! Hope you have been doing good. Good news, I'm staying in Casper for the next 6 weeks! I'm excited. I really like Casper. We're going to have 10 elders in the district this transfer, so it's going to be pretty crazy. I've seen some cool faith-building experiences recently, with finding people who want to come closer to Christ. Its been nice to find people who are willing to take the steps to do that. Sorry to keep this short, but thanks everyone! You're all awesome! Love, Elder Pack PS:  Ethan said that they have quite a few elders in their District who are being transferred, going home, or going to their original assignment, so they don't have anything planned for p-day.  But he is going to check out Hobby Lobby (I'm jealous) which is right next to the thrift store.  Ethan loves the thrift store so it will be interesting to see what he gets when he is there.

Father's Day Phone Call

Image
Ethan messaged me Saturday night to tell me they had permission to call Sunday for Father's Day.  We were pretty excited!  And Bryan said it was "about time" that dads got a call from their missionary like moms do. He called late but we were able to talk to him about how he is doing.  They had quite a few investigators at Church so he was excited.  One of the investigators commented during Sunday School and said the closing prayer.  So that was cool! While we were on the call with him, the Transfer Document came out telling them who was getting a transfer on Wednesday.  Ethan opened it and found out that he and Elder Wright are staying in Casper for another transfer and their Zone was being reorganized.  They will now have 10 elders in their district instead of 6 and there won't be any sister.  Who is going to supervise?!?!  But he was happy to be staying in Casper with Elder Wright.  They get along really well. Ethan sent us some ...

Hey everyone! I hope that this is are going good for all of you. This week has been pretty good. We started teaching some cool people and did some fun service at someone's house. I'll make sure to include some pictures.  For pday today, we're playing volleyball and stuff. Then we're going to go and spend some time at a rec center. Fun stuff. Other than that, things are pretty normal.  Thanks  for all your support! See ya! Love, Elder Pack Ethan is to the right of the guy in the red shirt.  He is the face in the tree. 😉 Ethan is in the gray shirt to the right of center: The Wyoming night sky: PS: Ethan told us that they have been teaching an investigator who is slowly progressing. At one of their last appointments, his roommate decided to sit in and is actually progressing faster than the original guy.  So Ethan was happy about that. They have been playing basketball with the youth in the 2 wards they serve in.  They play with one ward on one day and the ot...

Hey everyone! Today has been pretty good. We went on a hike and I took a lot of pictures. It was up on Casper Mountain. We didn't get all the way to the top but it was a good hike. We ate some sandwiches from a place called Blimpie and looked around a thrift shop and a Marshall's. Things are going well in Casper. We were able to hand off Gary and his wife to the other elders. That ward is already making contact and so things are good. Thanks for your support! Elder Pack PS.  They have been going through their Area Book to find more people to teach. They were doing splits and decided to go visit a woman who had taken the discussions before.  It turns out that she only speaks Spanish.  Through their broken Spanish and her broken English, they found out that her daughter would be home soon and could translate.  They went back but no one was home.  But Ethan said he could understand better than he could figure out how to say anything. I had asked Ethan about Spanish...

Hey everyone! This week was pretty normal. Things are still going good with those we're teaching, except that we realized that Gary and Heather live outside of the zone by a block. So we need to pass them off to some other elders. It's pretty disappointing because they have already met a lot of the ward. So it's not a great situation. If you could all pray for the new ward's hearts to be softened so they are friendly to them, that would be great. Otherwise, things have been good. I took some pictures from p-day so I'll send those. Thanks , everyone! You all are great.  Love, Elder Pack PS.  The last picture is of Ethan's  birthday cake .  I sent him a party in a box which included a cake mix, sprinkles, homemade icing, a cake pan, and some other cake decorations.  He didn't want to eat it all himself so he waited until it was p-day so he could share it with his district. But he kept forgetting to make it the day before.  He finally set an alarm and m...

District Council

Image
Ethan sent us this picture and it was really good so I wanted to put it on his blog.  Because his District covers such a large geographical area, they have to meet for District Council in a central location.  They meet every Wednesday for District Council and decided to meet at Ayres Natural Bridge between Glenrock and Douglas, WY.  They were able to meet, go on a short hike, and take pictures.   Ethan is the second from the right:

Hey everyone! I'm up here in Casper, Wyoming, and loving it. This is a great place. If you all could pray for Heather and Gary, that would be  awesome . They are working towards baptism and some prayers to help give them the motivation to read the Book of Mormon, that would be great. For pday today, we played a lot of basketball and some disc golf. It was a beautiful day here, except for the mosquitos. We also saw a snake.  Sorry for the shorter email, but I want to let you all know that you're  awesome ! Thanks  for all the love and support. Love, Elder Pack PS:  Ethan really is loving being back in Wyoming.  They have regular Church, they eat with the members, and they have people to teach.  It's been great.  And he has found a thrift store, so he's a happy guy. 😉  They live in an apartment complex with a gym so they get up at 5:30 am in order to have time to go workout before they have to get ready for the day.  Ethan said he ...

It’s Ethan’s 19th birthday! There is a member of the 70s touring the mission right now so their p-day was moved to Friday. They were given permission to do a few regular p-day things but they needed to be out working. Ethan couldn’t call at his regular time so he called us for a quick chat around noon. We got to watch him open his birthday box I sent.  I sent him a cake mix, frosting, sprinkles, and those candies that spell “Happy Birthday” so he could make his own cake. There was a piñata, small bat, balloons, party hats, candy, Cosmic Brownies, and Twizzlers. So he has everything he needs for a party!  Courtney bought him a Lego birthday cake when we were in Florida so he got that too. I think that was probably his favorite. He sent us pictures: I’m sure he will write on Friday when they have their actual p-day. He said he loves Casper because it is so beautiful. The members are taking good care of them. They have dinner appointments every night and a lot of times the member...
