Hey everyone! Yesterday I had to say goodbye to Elder Unruh, my trainer and first companion. I got to stay with him for 4 and a half months! He is a great trainer and I'm sad to say goodbye. Also, I will be training as well, so if you'd like, you could include my new companion and me in your prayers. It will make a huge difference! I'm kind of nervous but excited, haha! That gratitude video that President Nelson put out was great! Gratitude really does make a difference in our thinking. I know that there are some things in our lives that we can always be grateful for, even if there is literally nothing else. Some of those include the atonement of Jesus Christ, the chance to live with our families again, and the knowledge that there is life after death, again with our families. These things, plus many others, are the eternal truths that will always exist, and that will never go away. I'm also still staying in Wellington for the next little bit at least. The work is re...

Hey everyone!  Things have been good here. We had a sweet experience with a referral who didn't actually click on one of the Facebook ads, but still somehow got sent to us with her information. The coolest part was that she was open to a message! So we are going to be teaching her tonight. It is going to be cool! We have found a few new people to teach. The work is moving forward. Thanks for all of your support. Sorry, this is a shorter email, but it has been a busy pday. See ya! From, Elder Pack Ps. The gross looking pictures are exactly what you think it is. That Elder had a bit too much fun on the whirly thing at the park after eating McDonalds. Ethan is wearing all the warm clothes he can find. This elder lost it when they drove around a round-about after eating McDonald's and going on a whirly thing.  I don't know why they thought pictures were a good thing.   Ethan and Elder Unruh.  This was Elder Unruh's last pday.  He goes home next Tuesday a...

Hey all! I hope things are going well for you all. I didn't get to write an email last week because I got to go through the Fort Collins temple! It was pretty cool. I'm grateful that I got to go, and that my family got to come out and see me for it too! We have been encouraged to be more creative in finding. So, as part of it, I posted something on the Facebook page in Wellington asking if anyone was willing to teach me any skill (I might have told you all this already but I can't remember). So, someone said they could teach me how to fuse glass, and someone else said they could teach me the book of Acts. So, I got to fuse glass! However, that person was already a member, albeit a non-active one, so we're going to try to figure out what's going on. I'm also going to be offering free family photos with my better camera to see if anyone would be interested.  Otherwise, not a lot is going on, other than us finding two more people to teach! It's been a while, ...

Hey everyone! This is Michelle.  You get me this week because Ethan didn't write a letter home because...he was in the Fort Collins Temple taking out his own endowments...and we were there!  So he was a bit busy to write home so I thought I would give you the update on him. Ethan is doing really well.  When the Fort Collins Temple went to Phase 2 we were told we would be able to go through with him and we were so excited.  After a couple months of waiting for our turn, we were on a plane early  Tuesday morning  on our way to Colorado.   Their zone had Zone Conference Tuesday so the rest of their Zone had p-day Monday, but since Ethan was going through the temple, they did regular work on Monday then took Tuesday as p-day and will attend a different Zone's conference on Wednesday.  Kind of crazy but the temple takes priority. We were given permission to spend one hour with Ethan so we decided it would be easiest to take him and Elder Unruh to ...

Hi everyone! We got some snow this week! It snowed about 18 inches in 2 days. I've never really gotten to drive in the snow, but I did this week. We also decided to go disc golfing today. There was a lot of snow, and I lost a disc, but it worked pretty well anyway. Also, to try to find people to teach, we walked around with shovels and asked to shovel people's driveways. We went over to Justin's house last night to try and set up a chapel tour with him. Justin is pretty hard to get ahold of and is usually a bit intoxicated. Fortunately, Justin was home, and so was his mom. We set up a time to do the tour, and Justin's mom was very excited to come. I bet we can start teaching her too! That's definitely a highlight of the week. Also, yesterday we went to see if we could set up an appointment with a lady we met a little while ago who was interested in our message. Her husband was in the front of their house filling up their car's tires with air. We talked to him an...

Hey everyone!  As I think I told you last week, I'm still in Wellington with my companion Elder Unruh. This is his last transfer, and he trained me so we'll have been companions for about 4 and a half months by the time this transfer is over. (Ethan told us today on the phone that there is a mission rule that the missionary going home can't drive during their last transfer period.  So Ethan has been doing all the driving, which is hilarious because Ethan doesn't like to drive.  He much prefers to ride in the car so this is interesting.) Over these past few weeks, our teaching pool has diminished a lot. We had to drop a few people who weren't progressing and a few people dropped us, haha! Fortunately, we've been seeing success in finding people with interest, so we have a few new person prospects. The fire is still burning up here. We could actually see the glow from our apartment a few nights ago! It shouldn't be a problem for us here though. It looks pretty...

Hi guys! Things are good here. I'm going to be staying in Wellington for another 6 weeks with Elder Unruh. I'm excited. We're making progress with some of those that we're teaching. Some others might have to get dropped, unfortunately. They just aren't progressing anymore. We did some service at Laughing Buck Farm. We cleaned out a chicken coop. It didn't smell or anything; it was just really dusty. It was a great day, though. The wind we had over the past few days blew away most of the smoke, so it was really clear. We went to talk to a guy we're teaching to tell him that he had to keep commitments or we can't come over. He kept changing the subject to talk about other random stuff, so we didn't get very far. In fact, he gave us some disc golf discs he had. So now we're going to play disc golf on Saturday and try to set some expectations there. It was just a really weird situation. I invite all of you to check out Mosiah 14:5. It talks about J...

Hey everyone! I hope you're all going good. Things are going good here in Wellington. We are finding some more people to teach. It has been a blessing. We might have to drop some people soon, though, if they don't progress. Conference was pretty cool. It was really comforting for me to hear the general authorities talk about the current events and how to get through them. I wish that everyone could hear what they had to say. Here is some exciting news: I get to go through the temple in November! I'm pretty excited to go. My companion and I are doing temple prep stuff right now to get me ready to go. Sorry I write short emails haha. Things are just going well here, you know? Thanks for all of your support and prayers. I really appreciate it. Have a good day everyone! From, Elder Pack Note: I have no idea why Ethan is playing with a wheelchair, but he is fine.  The other pictures are of the smoky skies.
