Hey everyone! It has been a pretty uneventful week. Shawn is still progressing really well. Keep praying for him! It's been cool to see how much he wants to learn.  Gotta be honest, I'm having trouble thinking of things to write. It really has been a pretty uneventful week. But prayer does work! I wanted to emphasize that. And if you're having trouble in life or something, just pray. It only takes a few seconds and God wants to hear from you because he loves you, I promise. Thanks everyone! You are all awesome. From, Elder Pack The Mountain View District: (Ethan is in the back with a black mask on. They do service at a man's home and have now started teaching him.  He will give them a task to do (like taking out a light switch and its wiring or hanging dry wall) and then go to another group without really watching them. Ethan is gaining a whole new skill set by helping this man remodel his basement.  I just hope he doesn't get electrocuted. Some notes from our conve...

Hey Everyone! Pretty normal week overall. Transfers will be tomorrow and it looks like I'm staying in Riverton for another transfer. I'm excited because I really like it here.  Everyone keep praying for Shawn! He is progressing really well and is on date for April 9th. He is awesome. Here are some pictures that I got this week. Thanks everyone! You're all awesome.  See ya, Elder Pack PS: Ethan told us today that his companion saved his life. They were doing service for guy, cleaning out things, and his companion noticed a spider coming down that was going to land on Ethan's head.  He told Ethan and when the spider turned on its string, Ethan saw the red hourglass on its stomach.  It was a black widow making its way down to Ethan.  Ethan moved and it started going back up its string.  But that was the last mistake it ever made.  Ethan put an end to the spider but it wasn't a fun experience for him. He never sends captions or stories with his pictures, s...

Hey everyone! It has been a pretty great week here in Riverton.  Shawn, our miracle referral, is progressing so fast and is now on date to be baptized! Everyone please pray for him that he will continue to progress and make the right choices. We haven't even talked about the word of wisdom and he has already thrown away his vape, tobacco, and other stuff like that. His faith is so amazing!  Other than that, it has been a pretty normal week. We've been making slow but steady progress with the other people we're teaching.  On another note, we were gonna go fishing with a less active member I ran into on Facebook, but he crashed his car in Billings so we will hopefully go next week. I'm not sure what we're going to be doing today yet, but it will probably be something fun. Hopefully, haha. Thanks  for all of your support. If there is one thing that I want to leave with those I have the chance to talk to and teach, as well as all of you, it is that the Book of Mor...

Hi everyone!  This week was pretty great. We saw a lot of miracles. The biggest one was a lesson with someone named Shawn. He was referred to us by his brother. We went out and talked to him, and he said that he wants to be baptized so he can start new. It was awesome! He was so excited in our lesson with him. He also said he already believes that the Book of Mormon is true '100%'! How awesome is that! We're going to keep working with him to really affirm that testimony. Everyone, please pray for Shawn that he will continue to accept the gospel of Jesus Christ! Nothing is really as exciting as that, but we went on a hike today in Sinks Canyon state park. It was a beautiful day and a lot of fun. I'll include some pictures. We had a few other good lessons this week as well. Thanks for all of your support! I'm grateful for it and for all of your prayers. Have a great week! From, Elder Pack

Hey Everyone! I hope you're all doing good. Its been a pretty fast week here in Riverton. We, unfortunately, didn't get to go to the sweat last week, but we're hoping for next week. We had a cool experience yesterday! We recently dropped someone because he wasn't going to be able to meet for a few months. Well, the bishop asked us to go see him because Corey, the guy, had been talking to bishop and our elder's quorum president about maybe being baptized! So we went over and Corey said that his family would like to take the lessons! He just didn't want us over that time we stopped by because his uncle was there and he's pretty foul-mouthed. So that was awesome! Otherwise, it's been a pretty normal week. Just trying to get in contact with people and teaching lessons. I've been able to meet a lot of cool people here, and I've seen a lot of tender mercies. Thanks for all of your support! You're all awesome. Thanks! From, Elder Pack

Hey everyone! Another week up in Riverton. Apparently, it's been a pretty mild winter, so they're expecting a dry summer. At least it isn't negative 30!  Teaching has been going well. We are finding a lot of new people. Now the hard part is staying in contact with them. Sometimes people drop off for a bit and then we have to work to get back in contact. I'm just grateful we're able to teach people! We had 6 lessons yesterday. 4 with members, 1 with a recent convert, and 1 with a nonmember. So, it was a pretty busy day! It was good to be teaching though. A guy living on the reservation we do service for invited us to a sweat. So we're gonna go do it obviously. The other elders in the ward went once and it sounded like a cool experience. I'm pretty excited! Things are going well in general. I'm happy to be up here. It's been a great area so far. I've been able to meet lots of cool people. Thanks for all of your support and prayers! I can definite...

Ethan's 2020 year in review

Image
2020 was a pretty big year for me. To start out, in March I got my mission call to serve in the Colorado Fort Collins mission. That was something I had been waiting for for a long time. Because of Covid-19, I would end up participating in the Missionary Training Center online, instead of in-person in Provo as usual. In May, I turned 18 and graduated from high school. Right after that, on July 1st, I entered the online MTC for 3 weeks at home. From there, I served in Wellington, Colorado for 6 months until I was transferred up to Riverton, Wyoming, where I am now. 2020 was a challenging year, but I have seen a lot of blessings in my life that have come from it, including a stronger testimony that my Heavenly Father loves me. (Ethan was challenged by another elder to do the "2020 Year in Review Challenge." This was what he put on Facebook. I wanted to put it on his blog so he would always have it.)
