He messaged me Thanksgiving morning to tell me that they were allowed to call home so he would call us after they had eaten Thanksgiving dinner.  I was excited.  Bryan's birthday was on the 24th and they can call home for those too.  So if Ethan would have wanted to, he could have called on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week. 😉

They had a good Thanksgiving.  They got together as a Zone and played ultimate frisbee.  Those are the pictures that I have attached to the email.  In the first picture, they are trying to look mean, then they smile, and then they just take pictures looking into the sun. 😉  They played 2 games and Ethan was on the winning team both times.  He said it wasn't because of skill, it was just the advantage of being tall.  He can reach the frisbee before the others.  They almost made it through the entire game without injury until close to the end when an elder (who was being aggressive) was chasing after Ethan.  Their legs got tangled up and they went down.  The other elder scraped his knee but that was all.  So they survived.

They then delivered cookies to some older people in the ward.  One person wasn't at home but the neighbor was out and wanted to talk to them so they gave that person the cookies.  They also went to a care facility to drop off cookies for another person.  I was glad to hear they did something like that.  I don't know who gave them the cookies or if they made them, but I was happy to hear they were serving on Thanksgiving.

Ethan and his companion ate Thanksgiving dinner at a family's house in their ward.  The couple is fostering a couple of grandchildren and one older granddaughter (who is a special needs adult).  Ethan and his companion are teaching the special needs granddaughter and are waiting to make sure she understands everything before she is baptized.  One of the grandsons is "pretty hyper and crazy."  They told the elders that he is like clockwork.  He is up at the same time, goes crazy all day long, then crashes at the same time each day.  Ethan thought he was hilarious.  I was happy to hear that Ethan made a chocolate cream pie (the ingredients I sent to him) and took it to the house with them.  He also made Strawberry Fluff (some other ingredients I sent to him) but they kept that at home for them to eat.  Ethan said it wasn't enough to share. haha!

The mission president asked them to be in their homes by 6 pm and do their weekly planning at that time so they weren't out on Thanksgiving night.  Ethan explained that they usually do their planning on Thursday but it's usually at the end of their day.  This moved it up and gave them extra study time on Thursday night.

Ethan was in good spirits and was happy when we talked to him.  Grandma and Grandpa Oman were still at our house after eating dinner so they got to chat with him too.  That was fun.  Ethan had a good Thanksgiving.
