Hi everyone!
I hope your week has been going good. I found out I'll be leaving Loveland and heading over to Windsor! I'm excited but I'm gonna miss Loveland.
It was a really fun week. I really enjoy being a missionary. Breanna is going to be baptized this Saturday and I'm super excited for her! She has the strongest testimony of Jesus Christ that I've ever seen.
Pday today was fun. Just a lot of basketball and chair soccer, as well as this game called peach ball that we play like ultimate Frisbee, but with a foam football and the goal is to get it into the hoop.
Well, I appreciate all of your love and support! Being a missionary is awesome. I've learned so much about Jesus Christ and have grown a lot myself.
From, Elder Pack
PS: These are things we talked about in our phone call but first, the videos he sent made me laugh. They have a wheel that you can spin so they put their names on it and whoever's name it landed on had to do something weird, like get their calf slapped. Ethan said it was hilarious and they had so much fun. Ethan is a ham. Missionaries are so weird!
As Ethan said, he is being transferred to Windsor, CO. He will be a zone leader and the junior companion (which he is thrilled about because he doesn't like being in charge all the time, haha!). He thinks that zone leader will be less responsibility than district leader so he is excited. He also heard that those zone leaders are the ones who go to the Denver Airport to pick up the new greenies. He is excited to do that, mainly because he will be able to drive in a car all by himself. He said that he will use the time in the van to train the greenies for the greenie draft. When they get their trainer, they do a greenie draft where they say their name, where they are from, and something interesting about themselves. He said it's really awkward when a greenie freezes because he hasn't thought of something interesting about himself/herself. He said one greenie said his something interesting was that he liked to make sandwiches. We had a good laugh about that one. His companion will be Elder Howard who has been out a little longer than Ethan.
Elder Mo (the Polynesian elder in the pictures above) is the district leader of another district in their zone. He wanted to do exchanges with Ethan but Ethan didn't think that was allowed - cross district exchanges. He told Elder Mo that they could do the exchange if it was approved by the zone leaders. Well, the zone leaders approved it so they got to go on an exchange. At the end of their exchange, Elder Mo wanted to get chicken nuggets. The zone leaders were behind them and so they stopped. The zone leaders told them that they could get nuggets but only if they taught someone while they were getting the nuggets. The zone leaders got in the car with them and all 4 went to Burger King for nuggets. Elder Mo had a gift card and asked the worker at Burger King to give them as many nuggets as they could get for $15 (nuggets are 6 for $1 so it was a lot of nuggets). While they were waiting for the nuggets to cook, they had to pull to a parking spot. When the worker finally brought out their nuggets, Elder Mo shared a scripture with the guy so it was "legal" for them to be there. 😉 Ethan said the nuggets weren't that good but they had fun.
We bought Ethan new shoes for his mission but he kept wearing the shoes he had for Church before his mission. After 18 months, those shoes have finally died so he is going to start wearing the shoes we bought him for his mission. Hilarious!
Thanks for all the love for Ethan!
