Everyone!
Here I am again, letting you know what Ethan told us about during his phone call (although he sends a lot of pictures afterward and has to explain them a bit).
It's transfer time and Ethan is staying put in Windsor, CO. He is excited because he has really enjoyed it. The only bummer is that Elder Ray (the newest member of their trio) is being transferred. Ethan and Elder Howard will continue on as Zone Leaders in Windsor but Elder Ray is going back to Wyoming. They are sad to see him go because the three of them had a lot of fun together. There were only 13 missionaries (8 sisters and 5 elders) coming into the mission this transfer so Ethan and his companion weren't needed to go to the airport to pick up missionaries. He was hoping they would be needed but thinks they may be needed next month.
But they did have to do one more stupid thing together as a companionship before the transfer. I guess they played a game and Ethan and Elder Ray lost so their punishment was .... well, you'll see it when you watch the video. Excuse the music. I don't know why there is music but you can't hear what they are saying. Ethan was trying to find one of the versions (yes, they did this three times!) where they didn't have music with it, but he couldn't find one. (In Ethan's defense, he has grown up eating raw cookie dough so salmonella apparently doesn't scare him.)
The second video Ethan shared is of their District doing a pyramid. I'm pretty impressed that they were able to get it done but, you'll notice, it didn't last long.
Things are still going well for Ethan. They have people they are teaching. They don't have anyone on-date for baptism right now but their Zone is doing really well. He is happy to stay put in Windsor and is having all sorts of fun adventures.
They had MLC (mission leadership conference) the other day. At the end, Ethan was helping with some boxes. He was trying to lift the heavy boxes safely but when he went down and picked one up...his suit pants split. They didn't just kind of split, they split from the crotch to the belt loops. He said it was hilarious and he was grateful that it happened at the end of MLC because he could just put his suit coat around his waist and go home. He sent pictures of the split and you can see that it was bad. He was laughing about it and it was a funny story when it was telling us. These pants have been the biggest pain! The seams started coming out of both pairs of pants and he had to get them fixed in Wyoming. And now, with only 4 months to go, one of them completely split. He said he is going to take them to get fixed but I'm not holding my breath. I can see him wearing the same suit pants for the rest of the time he is on his mission. Have I told you that he has only dry cleaned his suit once?! Yup.
For p-day they hung out with the districts and played pickle ball. The weather has been really good so they are taking advantage of that before it starts to snow again.
Last p-day they went bowling. Ethan said he got the worst score of them all but he was fine with that. He said it was a lot of fun though.
The last pic is from our phone call with Ethan. Even being a state away, he can still figure out how to tease Courtney. Our phone calls are hilarious when the two of them start teasing.
Well, that's about it. He is doing well and appreciates all the support and prayers.
-Michelle
