Everyone!
Here is the update on Ethan for the week.
Ethan had an exciting p-day last week. His big news was that he made a hole-in-one in disc golf! He was pretty excited. He hasn't seen anyone do that before so it was really cool. He said they didn't expect it so no one has it on video but we believe him.
He also ate a dried ghost pepper. He said he ate it and it was really hot. For some reason, the older elders began running around the church building (Ethan didn't know why) so he had to follow them because he couldn't be away from his companion. By the time they got all the way around the building, it was hurting a lot. Ethan thinks he drank about a gallon of water trying to cool the water off. Afterward, his stomach began hurting and he said the ghost pepper was painful to digest. But he learned his lesson. He said he will never do that again. Crazy kid!!
Ethan has been having a lot of fun this week. He is getting used to a new companion and has really had fun with Elder Nichols. He is from Alabama and sings. On Sunday, some members of the bishopric were going to sing an Easter song but one of them had a scratchy voice. In talking with Ethan and Elder Nichols, the bishopric member found out that Elder Nichols could sing. He was then asked to take the place of the one who had a scratchy voice. They asked Ethan if he could also sing and he told them "nope!" 😉 But the speakers went over time so they had to cut the song.
Ethan and Elder Nichols were invited for Easter dinner at a member's home. They ate ham and some pistachio fluff jello, and candy. He said it was a good day.
Ethan finally opened his box from February! I had forgotten what was in it but Ethan found homemade cookies. He opened the homemade oreos and said they looked good so they ate a couple of them. He got out another one and noticed white strings coming off it and realized that it was white mold. So they threw them away, thankfully. I thought there was summer sausage in it the package also but Ethan said he didn't find any. So I don't know where that package went. He didn't even open the sourdough bread, he didn't want to have that memory. Oh well.
The work is going well. Donna is still progressing toward baptism and they have another guy they are teaching who is showing promise. They found another guy yesterday that Ethan is excited about. He said they have had a lot of great experiences giving out Books of Mormon lately. He said they have been giving out 1-3 per day, which is great. Ethan has started carrying one in his hand at all times and teaching out of it so he can easily give it to who they are talking to. He is doing well and feeling good about the work he is doing.
I think that's about it. He is doing well and enjoying the work. Thanks for the prayers and emails to Ethan. He appreciates the support!
