Hey everyone! We got to talk to Ethan yesterday. I don't write until the next day because I am holding out hope that he will write and then I can just fill in the blanks. But with only 2 p-days left, I'm not holding my breath. 😉
Ethan is doing really well. They are teaching a man, Dale, who asked his member friend how he could get baptized. So, the member put him in touch with the YSA missionaries who passed him on to Ethan and his companion. They have taught him the first 3 lessons so far and he is doing great. The only hang-up is that he is living with his inactive member girlfriend. They have plans to get married but she has health problems and Social Security will only pay for her medication if she is unmarried. The couple have plans to move in the next 3 months so Ethan is hoping they can find a solution soon so Dale can get baptized.
Other than Dale, they had just a regular week. They did exchanges with other missionaries and Ethan went with one of the district leaders who the district has been struggling with. There are more sisters than elders in their districts right now and the district leader is struggling with charity towards the sisters. Ethan said, when they did exchanges, that it was really hard to have a conversation with the elder because he would give one word answers (kind of like talking to a teenager, haha). But Ethan kept trying and has been trying to help the Elder realize that he needs to be a bit nicer to the sisters.
Ethan said that, for p-day, they were going disc golfing. He wasn't sure what else, but he likes playing disc golf so I'm sure it was fun.
Zone Conference is on Wednesday, the last one of Ethan's mission. That is strange to think of. But Ethan is looking forward to that meeting.
Bryan teased Ethan about needing to get a haircut and Ethan said he already had plans to get one. He sent me a picture after his haircut. He went pretty short.
Ethan also posted a cool entry on Facebook that I wanted to share. I love watching his testimony grow.
Well, that was about it from Ethan. It's just the routine missionary life.
Thank you to everyone who has supported Ethan on his mission.
-Michelle
