Hey everyone!
Ethan called Sunday night to wish Bryan a Happy Father's Day. We didn't chat long because we wanted something to talk about on Monday but it was fun to see his cute face. And it was fun to talk to him 2 days in a row!
Last night, Ethan was locked out of Facebook so we couldn't use Messenger this morning to talk to him. He set up a Zoom meeting so we were still able to talk. He was a bit annoyed that it wasn't working though. He had to send me a text with the meeting info and sent a picture of him being annoyed.
The missionary work is going well. Dale, the man who they have been teaching whose girlfriend is a less active member, came to church again and really liked it. They have been teaching him and have another appointment with him tomorrow. Dale had a man who was against the Church talk to him last week and he was confident enough in what he has been learning to dispute what the man was telling him. One of the things was that we don't worship Jesus Christ. Dale knew that wasn't true because it is part of the name of the Church. Aren't we glad that President Nelson has asked us to use the full name of the Church?! So Ethan was pretty excited about that and glad that Dale is learning so much.
Zone Conference was last week and Ethan said it was a good one. They talked about revelation. Those who are leaving were asked to give their final zone conference testimony. There were 2 zones in the zone conference and 5 missionaries bore their last testimonies. That's kind of crazy.
The members have been taking care of the missionaries and Ethan has appreciated it. He did have one meal last week that he ate but sounded interesting..brussel sprout tacos. He said the family is younger and didn't have much so they told them they would feed the missionaries what they could find. They had tortillas with brussel sprouts, BBQ sauce, and lettuce (I think it what he said). Interesting. But at least they made the effort to help the missionaries.
Ethan wasn't sure what they were going to do for p-day. Their district hadn't figured anything out and the other district hadn't said what their plans were yet. Ethan was fine with this because he likes to have calm p-days. He has a p-day tradition of taking a hot shower at 4:30 with music (Church music) blasting. I asked what he does when it's a hot day and he said he takes the showers but it isn't as hot. That is something that hasn't changed in the last 2 years. In our house, we call it "lobstering" because when he got out of the shower his skin was always bright red! We have a wifi speaker in the shower downstairs so he is going to love it when he gets home.
Well, that was about it. He only has 1 more p-day in the mission so things are getting exciting!
